Sea Legs

Oh God here I go

So scared on my own

Counting grains all alone

Hourglass unrestored

Our-past un-grained on the shore

Our sand castles nevermore

Oars have turned to pens

And I’m penned up right where I began

But I’m thankful for the sea of ink again

Ship you left for one

Why did you jettison

My sea legs can’t run

I’ll just pace and row

Where will I go

Far from your undertow

When the sky meets the sea

And the stars decree the light that used to be

This sea of ink is my marquee

Keeping up my pace and row

Exploding mines how they lurk below

I’m so raw and exposed

Exposure from the sun

Leaves me nowhere left to run

But I’m thankful for what you’ve done

Ship you left for one

Why did you jettison

My sea legs can’t run

I’ll just pace and row

Where will I go

Far from your undertow

Bridges now debris

I built them all now they fall

Watch them as they sink

It was your call now they fall

Bridges now debris

I built them all

Now they fall

Watch them as they sink

It was your call now they fall

Ship you left for one

Why did you jettison

My sea legs can’t run

I’ll just pace and row

Where will I go

Far from your undertow
