Bones

When we met we lost our bets that we would end up like the rest

But deep down in our bones we feared a sweet unknown

When we met, our walls were higher we lined our moats with razor wire

Our towers held our truth built up from troubled youth

When we met our guards were guarded - a phalanx for the broken hearted

That kept our secrets safe and held the world at bay

Our truth is in the nude. So all I’ll say to you

I hope we never ever do this again

Let our bones out of our skin

Exposed. I’m yours.

I know we’ll never ever begin again

From now on until the end

Exposed. I’m yours.

When we knew we were our one, the truth erupted our skeletons

Melodies our marrow made, smeared that day like marmalade

Forbidden fruit was self imposed, Forgiven youth now self exposed

Eve and Adam shared a bone, but we won’t even wear our clothes

The truth is in the nude. So all I’ll say to you.

I hope we never ever do this again

Let our bones out of our skin

Exposed. I’m yours.

I know we’ll never ever begin again

From now on until the end

Exposed. I’m yours.

We blew up and fell down

Now our bones inside out

Sleeves are gone like our arms

Vows we make hold our hearts
